Hailing from Falun in the middle of Sweden, Billion Dollar Babies started as the unruly brain-child of lead singer Frankie Rich in early 2005.

The idea was to redraw the map to fit the band’s own designs and nobody else’s. All considerations as to what was considered hip went out the window.

Heavily influenced by big spectacle US rockers such as Kiss, W.A.S.P, Marilyn Manson and Alice Cooper, the band created their own standard for live shows and album sound.

To pay the rent while not being on the road the band members took jobs at local theatres and a special effects company. This fired up the creativity for building props and adding effects to their live show. Additionally, their common childhood interest in blowing things up was not lessened from working with pyrotechnics.

In 2009-2011 the band quit their jobs and decided to do away with all obstacles standing in their way. Studying at BoomTown Music Education in Borlänge, Sweden, not only enabled the band to spend more time refining their songs and sound, but also gave them 24/7 access to a professional rehearsal and recording studio.

Early 2011 the band released their first full length album, Die For Diamonds, on German label Pure Rock Records and toured Germany, Switzerland and Austria to support the album. The tour left the band wanting more.

During an odd gig as a demonstration band at a course for studio technicians at Dalarna University the band met producer Rikard Löfgren (Mustasch, Enforcer, Sister Sin) which led to a first collaboration on the EP “House Of Dreams Pt.1”. It was clear that Löfgren knew where the band was going musically and he managed to bring out the best of every member. The recording was done live and brought out a sound that was heavier, dirtier and more alive than ever before.

Between 2012 and 2014 the band kept playing club shows and festivals in Europe while working on new material. In the summer of 2014 Rikard Löfgren once again took the helm to produce the new album.
