If the name might seem familiar it is because Toseland are a band fronted by double world superbike champion James Toseland.
Throughout his career as a motorcycle racer, music was been central to James life – so when James was forced to retire through injury a journey into music started.
Toseland's first three releases, from the album “Renegade”, ('Life Is Beautiful', 'Crash Landing' and 'Renegade') all made it on to the A list on national radio stations and the album has received outstanding reviews.
Being invited to Play 'Download Festival', as well as being the opening act for The Darkness and Little Angels provided an incredible kick start to the band's career. U.K. headline tours followed, along with special guest slots with Status Quo and Reef, Calling Festival with Aerosmith and various appearances in Europe. Toseland continue an amazing couple of years for a band with high hopes.
Toseland began taking piano lessons aged eight, taught by a professional pianist; and he also started riding motocross bikes on the coal slag heaps close to his home. He was taught from Year 7 to Year 11 at Wales High School, located in Kiveton Park.
His engagement to pop singer Katie Melua was announced in January 2012. They were married on 1 September 2012, in the Nash Conservatory, at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, London.
In early 2015 James Toseland signed a worldwide contract with German label Metalville. “ReneGade” was published outside UK in an previously unreleased exclusive extended version.
The album contains modern, powerful hard rock with great hooks and refrains and some soulful ballads too.
Beside Toseland’s brother in law Toselands Zurab Melua (Git) the band consists of Ed Bramford (Git), Roger Davis (Bs) and Joe Yoshida (Dr)
