GRAVE DIGGER eroberten 1984 mit ihrem Debüt-Album "Heavy Metal Breakdown" die Herzen der Metal-Fans. Vieles ist in der Zwischenzeit geschehen: GRAVE DIGGER sind längst etabliert und zählen auch Jahre später zu den führenden Acts der deutschen Metal-Szene. Sie zogen schon immer konsequent ihren Stil durch: War es auf den Frühwerken wie "Heavy Metal Breakdown" und "Witchhunter" noch der teutonische Stil, der den klassischen GRAVE-DIGGER-Sound kennzeichnete, so setzte man in den Neunziger Jahren auf ausgefeilte Konzepte und anspruchsvollere Thematiken. Es entstanden in dieser Zeit so gutklassige Scheiben wie "Heart Of Darkness", "Tunes Of War", "Knights Of The Cross", "Excalibur" oder zuletzt "The Grave Digger", die auch das hohe musikalische und kompositorische Niveau der Mannen um Chris Boltendahl wiederspiegeln.

A lot has happened in the meantime: GRAVE DIGGER have long been established and years later are still one of the leading acts in the German metal scene. They have always consistently pulled through their style: If on the early works like "Heavy Metal Breakdown" and "Witchhunter" it was still the Teutonic style that characterized the classic GRAVE DIGGER sound, in the nineties they focused on sophisticated concepts and more demanding themes. During this time, they created such first-class discs as "Heart Of Darkness", "Tunes Of War", "Knights Of The Cross", "Excalibur" or most recently "The Grave Digger", which also reflect the high musical and compositional level of the men around Chris Boltendahl.
